by Fred M. Hubbell as part of an effort to encourage the performance
of concert music within the church and community .

and has grown to include musicians representing many churches.
Over 250 musicians have played with the concert band

ChristianFellowshipBand is a result
of the Chicago ChristianFellowship Band
which was founded in 1964 as a program for a series
of evangelical meetings in the old tablernacle of the Methodist campgrounds in Des Plaines, IL. The group of musicians who came together from the Elmwood Park Bible Church, Bethel Community Church and the North Side Gospel Center enjoyed the combined experience so much that they continued to practice together and began accepting concert dates. The CCFBand director for over 25 years was Mr. LeRoy Frizane, who has been followed by several other directors including his son Ken Frizane.
Fred Hubbell (founder), Steve Lilja, and George Strombeck
have directed both bands which have combined
on several occasions to perform 'encore concerts'.
Fred Manning Hubbell (1924-2007) was the principal conductor
until an accident forced his retirement in 2001.
The band is now conducted by George E. Strombeck, noted composer, arranger, instrumentalist, and director.
Brian Waterson is second conductor.
